Willy teaches Vertebrates, Ichthyology, Digital Morphology, and Vertebrate Paleontology. He trains research students and develops instructor and student resources. In his spare time, he builds simple furniture using local lumber.
Betty trains research students and coauthors textbooks and resources in vertebrate biology. Recent publications include analyses of dog behaviors during walks by female and male walkers and comparisons of the behavior of small and large dogs on walks.
Harvey is one of the faculty members who developed “The Vertebrates” course at Cornell University in the 1970s and wrote the first edition of Vertebrate Life, which was published in 1979. He taught “The Vertebrates” at Cornell for 20 years and has coauthored all eleven editions of Vertebrate Life. In retirement, he is an EMT and directs a volunteer ambulance program in coastal Maine.
Christine has coauthored Vertebrate Life since the fifth edition, published in 1999. A lifelong rider, she has trained horses and competed in dressage and cross-country jumping events.
